Monterey Bay Aquarium, March 5-6
Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have a super fun overnight program, and it is at a World class site. I am really excited that we have this opportunity. We reserved enough space for 100 people. Here are the details:
More details on this:
Please read the sleep over guide, and print out the guide + the medical forms. We need to have the medical forms filled out, along with the chaperon agreement on the last page of the guide ready to turn in when we check in on Saturday.
We are going to make this an official scouting event when we arrive at the aquarium on Saturday afternoon. This means you can use your own discretion for travel: alone, carpool, etc. The only rule the BSA requires is: a parent may not transport a scout that is not a family member unless 2 adults are in the car. This should be easy to accommodate as we have a parent from each family attending.
Check in is at 7PM, so I would plan on arriving around 6PM to allow time for traffic, collecting of forms, etc. We need to check in as a group, and we have 101 people attending. Please have the forms ready to go before we check in.
The floor is hard and cold. I would strongly suggest that you bring a inflatable mattress of some type. Also, please read the section about food. While they will have some snacks, you should have had your dinner before we enter the aquarium.
To summarize: plan on arriving in Monterrey early so you can enjoy the bay, find parking, have a nice dinner, get your forms ready to go along with all of your gear, and then meet the pack near the entrance of the aquarium after 6PM. We will go in together at 7PM.
Please call or email me if you have any questions! It should be a really fun trip!
